Deepak Gauri

I am an officer of the 2011 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS), one of the three All India Services. I possess a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Thapar University, Patiala, Punjab ( formerly known as TIET, Patiala).  Immediately prior to joining the IPS, I briefly worked as a Parliamentary Fellow with Sh. Naveen Jindal , the then Member of Parliament of Kurukshetra in Haryana.  Since joining IPS in 2011, I have served with distinction for three years in various capacities in the Delhi Police, tackling sensitive law and order issues, investigations into gruesome crimes and preventing crime with an unwavering focus on ensuring the safety of women.

During my two-year stint as Assistant Commissioner of Police of Defence Colony in South District of Delhi, I supervised the arrangements for two legislative assembly elections and a general election, which were peacefully concluded. The sheer numbers and resources directly commandeered by me to maintain law and order in the area – 1,300 personnel of paramilitary, 800-900 personnel of the district police, anti-riot equipment, vehicles, water cannons, etc – indicate the magnitude of the responsibility shouldered as a young police officer.

I have also served in the Delhi Traffic Police as Deputy Commissioner of Police for a brief period and was part of the core group of field officers which executed the traffic arrangements for the India-Africa Forum Summit held in October in New Delhi. I am currently posted as Aide-de-Camp to His Excellency the Governor of Mizoram at Raj Bhawan, Aizawl, Mizoram. I have a keen interest in geopolitics and strategic affairs besides core policing subjects such as law and order management, investigation, prevention of crime, tackling cyber crimes, etc.
