Asha Sundarmurthy

Asha Sundaramurthy is a PhD scholar in the Indo-Pacific Studies in Jawaharlal Nehru University. She worked as a researcher in the Vivekananda International Foundation with an area focus on the Indo-Pacific region. She has presented and published on a range of topics affecting the region such as assessing China in India’s Act East policy, mapping the counter-terrorism convergence between India and Philippines, looking at the maritime boundary limitation between India and Indonesia, the aid relations between Australia and Nepal, and Indian engagement with the Pacific Island states. She was also a visiting scholar to University of Malaya, where she worked on India-ASEAN relations. The topic of her M.Phil dissertation was the China factor in India-Australia relations. Her current PhD topic is on regional stability through bilateral relations in the Indo-Pacific region with a case study on India-Australia ties.
