Kaushik TG

Kaushik is from the 2014 batch of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes), currently working as Deputy Director in the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). Prior to joining DRI, he was with the GST Council where he was part of the team that laid the foundation for the Goods and Services Tax (GST), India’s largest taxation reform and rolled it out to the country on 1 July 2017.
He is a Computer Science Engineer who did his Bachelors from Anna University, Chennai and Masters from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. He worked for 2 years in the Financial Markets in Chicago before returning to India to prepare for the Civil Services.
He is keenly interested in the intersection of economics, public administration and technology and strongly believes that good economics and a firm technological foundation can greatly contribute to effective public administration, thereby significantly accelerating the pace of the nation’s development.
When not consumed by work, he is a passionate quizzer. He loves Roger Federer and filter coffee (in no particular order) and believes that the debate over the GOAT in tennis is redundant (irrespective of whether 20 is breached).
