Mosiqi Acharya
Mosiqi Acharya is a Journalist with over 11 years’ experience in Broadcast Industry. Having worked as a television journalist with top Indian news channels – CNN IBN, NewsX and Headlines Today, Mosiqi has covered the rise of Narendra Modi from being a Chief Minister of Gujarat to the Prime Minister of India, investigated and covered terror attacks in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, covered state and general elections, interviewed numerous politicians and personalities.
Mosiqi moved to Australia in 2014 and wrote several political pieces for University of Melbourne’s Election Watch website as a Contributing Editor. In May 2014, she joined SBS Radio’s Hindi program as a Producer and has been published in The Age too. Her most remarkable and proud achievement was writing a White Paper on Australia India Bilateral Trade Relations commissioned by Australia India Institute and Australia India Business Council. This White Paper was presented to Australian Prime Minister Hon. Tony Abbott just days before his historic visit to New Delhi in September 2014. When she is not reporting, Mosiqi likes to write, read, debate and contemplate. Australia-India relations excite and intrigue her and she hopes to discover more, report more and work more towards bringing both the countries closer.
