Shutapa Paul
Shutapa Paul has been a journalist for almost 11 years, having worked across various mediums such as television, newspapers and magazines. Currently, she is Group Editor of a digital media startup called Newsd, where she leads the editorial team. Newsd has short news apps, a website, YouTube channels etc. Shutapa has also started a YouTube channel dedicated to startups called NewCrop in association with NASSCOM’s 10,000 Startups.
Hailing from Kolkata, Shutapa is based out of New Delhi. After completing her Bachelor’s in English (Honours) from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, Shutapa went on to pursue her Post-Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Asian College of Journalism, Chennai. She also represented India at Thomson Reuter’s Editorial Judgement programme held in London, UK in 2014.
During the span of her career, Shutapa has worked for well-known brands such as NDTV, NewsX, India Today, The Week, and Forbes India. She is a keen observer of politics, economy, policy and current affairs. Interviewing people who matter, simplifying complex economic and policy matters, unearthing human interest stories and diving deep into every story, keeps Shutapa motivated. She has also founded a media consultancy startup called Dharma Media Consultants.
