Michael Safi
Michael is the Guardian’s south Asia correspondent based in Delhi. For the past three years he has covered Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, the Maldives and travelled and reported widely across India. He has broken stories about the alleged misconduct of the Indian mining company Adani and the emergence of an al-Qaeda cell in disputed Kashmir, among others. His reporting focuses on the changing conditions of Indian women, technology, lingering caste discrimination, India’s environmental challenges and progress and the country’s politics and economy.
