Marni O’Connell

Marni is a Science and Global Studies student at Monash University, majoring in Environmental Science and International Relations. In 2021, Marni was the first woman of her party to be the Monash Student Association President (MSA), an organization that represents all Monash undergraduate students on campus.

Marni has also attended Oxford University, where she studied the intersection of enterprise and the environment. In 2018, she attended Monash’s first ever Global Immersion Guarantee Program to India. There, she studied at the TATA Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, analyzing the impact of rapid urbanization specifically on the natural environment and local communities.

Marni has a passion for environmental policy and gender equity, and its role in addressing shared challenges faced by India and Australia.
