Aiyshwarya Mahadev

Aiyshwarya Mahadev is a young practicing lawyer, politician and media personality. Aiyshwarya is currently serving as the National Spokesperson of India's oldest political party, the Indian National Congress and is the youngest in its history to hold this post. In her role as a spokesperson, Aiyshwarya has participated in more than 2,000 political TV debates in India's leading media channels. In addition, Aiyshwarya also serves as the General Secretary in-charge of Media and Communications for the Congress Unit in Karnataka which recently won a historic mandate in the State.

In the recently concluded Karnataka State Assembly Elections, Aiyshwarya was involved in drafting and consulting for the leadership on policy and governance issues, including agriculture, women’s empowerment, rural development and social justice. Aiyshwarya has been involved in the drafting and research of various legislative briefs and policy documents for Congress Parliamentarians. Aiyshwarya is also an avid farmer involved in agriculture in her native of rural Mysore and on ground works for her rural constituents. In this sphere, Aiyshwarya regularly interacts with the Panchayats for effective, timely implementation and development of her constituents in Krishanarajanagara, Mysore District. Aiyshwarya’s hobbies include a keen interest in sustainable farming practices, raising livestock, reading and doing the Sunday Crossword.
