Sayani Das
Dr Sayani Das is an anthropologist specializing in Geriatric Health. She works as a Research Officer at the International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) in New Delhi, India, and holds a significant role as a founding member of the ‘Centre for Ageing Studies’ within the organization. She holds a doctoral degree from the University of Calcutta and an MPhil degree from the University of Delhi, India. Prior to her current role, Dr Das worked as a Consultant at the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India. She also served as a research fellow at the Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata, India.
Dr Das’ research is primarily centered around the health and well-being of older adults, with a specific focus on frailty. She emphasizes the need for comprehensive interventions that encompass the physical, mental, and social dimensions of well-being in older adults. Dr Das is deeply committed to expanding her research by exploring diverse and effective strategies to prevent and manage frailty. Her ultimate goal is to explore innovative approaches and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, striving to make a lasting impact on the lives of older individuals and contribute to the global mission of achieving SDG 3 (Health for All).
